An eye-opener.

I like how this movie rips apart the prejudice I had of Something's life.

Seriously, the thing is fun and it even shows some method to its madness, that alone puts it above a big bunch of other CC movies.
If you ever wanted to feature a song from my Audio Page in your submissions, it'd be a pleasure. Good day!

At last, an insightful review that recognizes what "A Day In the Life of Something" is all about. If you have enough spirit, you can make even the most mundane routine pulsate with excitement.

Hi, I'm responding to your PM in a minute but I felt like properly reviewing this. I don't know anything about Flash programming but this falls under 'cinema' which I'm considerably more experienced with. :-)

The experience of watching this was very refreshing to say the least, it is delightful to see so much work put into every frame, this is truly what more people should use Newgrounds for - as a platform to experiment, develop one's own style and possibly working toward making the step from amateur to professional, which I think you could certainly pull off.

This movie starts out as a double-edged spoof, of Newgrounds sprite movies as well as of blockbusters like the Matrix, but it starts exceeding that pretty soon. The narration is very similar to David Lynch's, in the sense that I don't really know what the fuck is going on but it intrigues me and I really find myself moving to the edge of my seat. Characters are introduced very bluntly (in the best sense of the word) and we are treated with lines like "Should that guy be doing that?" which make sense in meaning but not in wording. The whole atmosphere you create allows you to even include footage of yourself - which is a pretty bold move, but worked extremely well in this case.

Of course there are some flaws, there's bound to be, but they are mainly found in the montage, there are points where it slows down somewhat unnecessarily. Another thing is that your choice of music is a little too much on the explanatory side at times, as if you think the animation itself isn't enough to get the point across. It is.
I love, however, how you shrouded that particular song in mystery and I'm curious to see how that turns out. And anyone who uses the Rite of Spring in a movie must at least have the right idea.

(Reviews are such a good opportunity to be totally elitist, hehe.)

I'll need to go see the previous parts as well when I have more time on my hands, but I can tell you now that I very much admire your efforts, and cinematographic talent. I haven't seen something this genuine on here since David Firth's "The child that smelt odd". In due time, it will attract the right people to help you further ahead, and I think it should definitely get its own collection on this site.

To sum up, truly ace. Talk to you soon.

Classic

Hahaha... that was so wrong XD
Best Pokemon bash I've seen so far. Excellent.

It's really a nice gesture :)

I have tutorials that only describe a very minor part of flash-making already on auto-blam, they are completely superfluous. It's also useless in this case, because you put 'tut' instead of 'tutorial' in the title. Even if someone would decide to search for 'tut' instead of 'tutorial' if they're looking for it, 'tut' is unsearchable because of the 4 character search minimum.

Better to use your knowledge on the subject to create a nice movie - there are more than enough tutorials here as it is and lots of them cover this including a lot more.

Hear hear

Provocatively portraying the black race is not going to make anyone think this movie is not worthless.

ya huh

Well thanks for using my tune :)

You killed your own joke with the title man. No one is going to be surprised now.
It's a fun gimmick, done before but that's no big deal, but due to the title it'll just be filed away with the Star Syndicate bullshit and the like. Pity.

112358 responds:

Hey, thanks for the cool tune. :D

Just changed the title so more people would view it, just for a li'l bit of attention. And people still did fall for it.

And I told myself once it was out of the latest 50, I would change it back to its original title.

Wow

It looks really cool, but what are you going to do next? Will you make a flash series for NG or was this just to advertise your webcomic? Can't blame you if it's the latter, but I do hope it's the former...

Awesome!

Thanks for using my song! (10 for sound FTW lol whorage)

This was great, seriously. I can't believe how unexpected that was - 70% of the flashes on NG end like this but you really had me wondering what the ending would be!! Perfectly chosen title.

Great introduction - I loved the tweens with the little stream in the water, dosed very well, and the chirping crickets set a great pace to boldly break later on :)

Made my day, very nice work! All my 5 r belong etc.

Ingus rocks!

I have to say, I love the series and I really admire how you manage to come up with new scenarios. It's a quite rare talent to be able to make distinctable episodes when you work in an absurdism in which anything is possible.
That aside, I think this is a bit of a step back from 5 and 6 (5 being my favorite) because I felt this was at a slightly slower pace... probably because there was more plot explanation than I've gotten used to.
It definitely had its moments though, and the animation keeps getting better.
Hope you guys have picked up on this, so we can expect new episodes with smaller intervals :)

Oh yeah, a final thing: what I like so much about Ingus is that we sometimes learn about the talents he has, like the power of flame breath... so keep that in mind if you will... for example, I was wondering if Ingus can sing at all?

KupaMan responds:

I kind of messed up on this one. Oh well. It's just another in the series. I liked 5 as well. 6 I enjoyed, but I think I messed up with the script because I was just thinking how cool it would be to have one of my favorite authors in one of my flash. I didn't really consider the episode quality. As for smaller intervals, I was just lazy with this one. Usually !I have them out about every month, only they're only like 2:00 tops with credits, so I wanted to go longer. I didn't really here, but I plan to in teh future. What I'm thinking should be my next episode should be longer, but not entirely funnier. Some people my get SVS(sandy vagina syndrome) over it, but it will be a fun one for me, so it doesn't matter. I hope to get to 10, and then do something different with Ingus, and then maybe continue the episodes. I'm not sure, though. That's pretty far ahead. Whatever. Thanks for the review.
