Hey, I don't know if you remember me, but I decided to come back to the NGAP, went looking for some good metal, waded through shitty Dream Theater and Evanescence emulations and then stumbled across a familiar name. I then was treated to 7 minutes of solid, old-school riffage. So I decided to leave a review!
Well, pretty much every metal band I know (this is not saying much) poked its head around the corner here: Melvins, Slayer, Napalm Death, Helmet, even Meshuggah somewhat. That's not to imply the riffs are formulaic, more that they are in-your-face, immediately dominating. They show technical prowess without slipping into wank. Very tasteful.
For what is essentially a bunch of ideas taped together, the only part where it really felt disjointed for me was around 4:00 when the 12/8 riff kicks in. Otherwise it flows rather nicely and the build-ups within the parts are great.
The drums sound okay but seem a bit too much in the front of the mix. Your guitar sounds yummy.
This ended up somewhat longer than I expected... To sum up, great work, I enjoyed very much!
