Excellent!

This is terrific stuff man. Terrific. It reminds me of John Mayer and production-wise it's as near to professional studio quality as I've come across in the portal.
Sure, the fade-out is not exactly subtle and the synth drums are a little underwhelming, but the only reason that I notice that is because everything else sounds so good. Vocals are nice too.
Great. 5/5, easily.

Thanks for the review Win. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Good effort, but some things to be said

It's a nice approach. The drums are very choppy but that's not necessarily a bad thing - it adds up to the originality.
One of your synths is ridiculously out of key though, that really degrades the quality. And there doesn't seem to be any bass. If you'd improve on that, it would run much smoother and actually rise above the masses. You should also add some volume slides to the drum fills to make them sound less canny.

Verrry nice

As the guy below me (as gay as that may sound) implied, what really shines about this track is the mastering - that thing that I'm not good at :) - and you show an excellent insight in placing lil' effects and details.

But I think this should have a meaner beat - bassier and gnawier, as a contrast with the ambient feel.

It still rules and deserves 5/5, but it could be, like, excellent. Hope I'm not being too cryptic.

I also would like to inappropriately ask you to listen to some more of my stuff, because you gave me two very detailed and helpful reviews and I want some goddamn fame 'round here. If I could persuade to review "Aeronaut", "Exit Moscow" and "Black Samurai waltz", I'd be very happy. I consider those my finest work at the moment and I'm eager to improve. Hope to hear from you, I'm off to listen to more of your songs now :)

LaymanLove responds:

Well said about the beat...there's always the remix. But I probably won't be doing it so, let your imagination run wild.

I'll be checkin out some of your stuff

Good job

Of course it's a pity that the guitars are synthy, but the composition is interesting enough to at least partly put that aside. Good job on this one, I gave it 4/5.

Check some of my music too.

Hey man

I love the sound of this ditty, but it stays too much in the same lane... I think it really lacks a melody. It's soothing enough but with a little more detail I would be urged to listen to it more often.
Keep em coming!

pitbulljones responds:

yea i know what your saying mate, there is a melody for the song but me singer's moved to holland and he's got the lyrics, so i'm buggered there really as i can't sing for toffee. i never see my tunes as a finished product either they're always a work in progress so if i manage to bang lyrics on and develop some hooks for it'll be striaght on here, anyways thanks for listening to it and i'll be posting some new tracks in the coming weeks.

Fun original idea

It's a great idea, but it should build up much more. I get used to the noise quickly and I would've liked it if I kept being challenged the whole way through. I bet you could make it at least twice as mean in the end.

Cool.

Did you use a pitch shifter? Nice sound.

Anyway, I've been a victim of 0 voters as well... we should like build a network or something that ensures people get enough fair votes to buffer the jackass ones... nothing so frustrating as to see the fruit of your time-consuming labor go down into oblivion because of some fucking retard. </rant>

4/5 and I'll see what else you made. Care to check out some of my stuff too?

Niiiice

Very well caught that mood there. The only thing I didn't like were the drum fills, they made it a bit too... hip... :)
But 5/5 for you.

Hey man, awesome

Excellent title :)
It's very good. Only thing it lacks is a real jazzy guitar solo. I just downloaded it so maybe I'll add one myself, hehe.
Anyway, beautiful arrangement, really diverse. The tempo increase at the end is not what I consider the best part of the song, but it's interesting at least. Great job.
Wanna listen to some of my stuff?

LaymanLove responds:

Dude! DO IT! I'm all for a killer solo. Sheeeit, tell me where you want to put it and I'll clear you some room. Haha, thanks for the review.

Way cool!

Very nicely done man. It manages to stay interesting and the waves sound strangely soothing. You can keep following the seperate melodic lines. Great job!!

Coincidentally, I did the same thing a while ago - my sinus waves are much squeakier and I aimed for a Game Boy music feel. It's shorter, but I made the waves into percussion as well :)
