Great.
Dude, unless you're Keaton Simons, you did not sing this.

sorry submiitted wrong track
Good stuff but you can make it work much better
You are a neat guitar player, so cheers for that. Please tune it better next time, especially the intro slices through my ear drums... :)
About the drumming - aside from that they're too loud in the mix in my opinion - it seems to me like you recorded them directly from playing them on a keyboard. You deserve a pat on the back for the way you put a solid drum sound together. However, it goes out of tempo a lot, and then you probably had to adjust your guitar playing to it. It might be the other way around, but it's a pity because it really distracted me.
I don't know what software you use to record it, but most recording programs have some kind of grid function to polish MIDI-based recording into a solid tempo. Try experimenting with that, or just develop the skill to create a whole drum score in a fixed tempo.
I hope you continue making stuff because it sounds like you could become a worthy, authentic addition to the portal. Keep it up!
I'm not by a long shot suggesting that my music is perfect or that I have established myself here - please check out my stuff and feel free to point out any flaw you can find :)
3/5 for now for this song, but I'll try to keep an eye on your progress. Peace.
It’s totally the other way around, Well I am not as good a you though (I’ve heard some of your stuff and you are too good man in my opinion)
Almost all of my song I recorded directly from playing (Live)
The software I used for the midi is Creative Rhythmania (Comes it the Creative Sound Blaster Sound Card)
So I recorded the guitar, bass and lead one by one and then playing all simultaneously lastly the drum (Creative Rhythmania) using a computer keyboard (not a midi device).
Its not consistent and off beat sometime but one thing for sure it feels good as if I were jamming in the studio especially when
I turn the volume up yeah.
Currently I am learning various music studio through a lot demo online and there’s a lot and very confusing the first song created was Ice Love (baby) yet I still don’t quite get it yet with the loop thing specially the note stuff, any way I’m learning maybe in month or so I probably get it. Any way thanks for the reviews.
Cool!
It's wonderful, but I refuse to give you a 10 until you finish it and upload the whole thing. What program do you use? I want it.
I use Fruity Studio's, but the sounds you're hearing are VST plug-in's. Chuck me an email if you want, and i'll explain all of it to you, if you want ;).
Thanks for the review.
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful
Dude this is one of the best things I've heard in this portal. I can't imagine the perfectionism you must've had to make this.
Otherwise, ZENON said it all. Wonderful stuff. 5/5
Wow - I don't know about perfectionism - Alot of it is really simple - there are just a couple of variations on a theme here that are repeated, the addition of some basic tricks - a dual stereo delay - that sort of thing, add alot of additional detail and depth that isn't actually there - or rathar - wasn't there to begin with.
I'm happy to get the feedback though - thanks again!
Beautiful
That was really something. It reminds me of Mogwai's moods. Excellent nuances. Loved it.
Review me! :)
Seriously. Loved it.
Cool beans man. I appreciate it!
Solid stuff
This was good, very moody and nicely put together. I'd have appreciated some more dynamic changes though, while the clink-clank accompaniment is interesting, I lost interest a bit half-way through. 4/5. Check some of my music too.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reviewing! I wasnt exactly sure if I should have added another instrument to "change the dynamics of the song" or not, but I think it came out well nevertheless.
A few things to keep in mind
Okay first off, I like these initiatives and therefore I will give you an encouraging 4/5 (also because of the 0 voters), but otherwise it would barely be 3/5. Not nearly enough is going on to justify the length and that guitar solo really doesn't make any sense.
What I did like was the contra-melody by the piano. Put more ideas like that into a single song and you're going somewhere.
Other pointers:
- Dynamic variances. See the song as a story. Build up tension, create 'pauses'... make it surprising to listen to.
- More interesting drums (hi-hats to start with, add drum fills, etc - you're a drummer, right?)
- Come up with more tracks and see how different combinations work.
- Get better samples somewhere, these sound too cheesy and they must not be very inspiring for you as well.
I think you really have potential. Maintain your originality and build from there! Good luck and check some of my stuff to whine back :)
Thanx and i will check your stuff out :)
Excellent!
This is terrific stuff man. Terrific. It reminds me of John Mayer and production-wise it's as near to professional studio quality as I've come across in the portal.
Sure, the fade-out is not exactly subtle and the synth drums are a little underwhelming, but the only reason that I notice that is because everything else sounds so good. Vocals are nice too.
Great. 5/5, easily.
Thanks for the review Win. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Verrry nice
As the guy below me (as gay as that may sound) implied, what really shines about this track is the mastering - that thing that I'm not good at :) - and you show an excellent insight in placing lil' effects and details.
But I think this should have a meaner beat - bassier and gnawier, as a contrast with the ambient feel.
It still rules and deserves 5/5, but it could be, like, excellent. Hope I'm not being too cryptic.
I also would like to inappropriately ask you to listen to some more of my stuff, because you gave me two very detailed and helpful reviews and I want some goddamn fame 'round here. If I could persuade to review "Aeronaut", "Exit Moscow" and "Black Samurai waltz", I'd be very happy. I consider those my finest work at the moment and I'm eager to improve. Hope to hear from you, I'm off to listen to more of your songs now :)
Well said about the beat...there's always the remix. But I probably won't be doing it so, let your imagination run wild.
I'll be checkin out some of your stuff
